Sonic notices Knuckles getting angry and soon places both hands on his shoulders.
"Knux, listen to me! Everything is going to be fine! If you want, I can go and get her and bring her to Station Square instead, unless there was anywhere else you wanted to take her..."
Knuckles takes a deep breath and exhales, trying to calm himself down.
"I'm sorry... I just don't want her to get hurt. I know that she wants to set up a nesting spot somewhere in the Mystic Ruins but it's still too close to the island. I want to be the one to take her though, she is still exhausted from the birth..."
Sonic nods as he looks around.
"I understand, Knux. Tell ya what, how about you go and get Maia and I'll take the egg back to Station Square until we know that Mystic Ruins is safe, deal?"
You have no idea how badly I've been wanting to draw this x3 Also Sonic and Knuckles look a bit different because Sonic's design was based off the events after the birth of Samuel and Knuckles' design is based off the events before the birth of his and Maia's child x3
A while ago I made a story with the birth of Knuckles and Maia's child, Zircona but it didn't really get much attention, so I thought I would instead draw a scene from it x3 Here's the story if you want to read it by the way: https://www.deviantart.com/hedgecat.....RT-1-692312751
In this scene of the story, Sonic almost runs straight into Knuckles as he traverses Angel Island with his and Maia's egg in his arms. He gets angry from this and Sonic promptly apologises. He is then really shocked to see an egg in Knuckles' arms and asks if it's his to which he responds by saying that it is and that Angel Island could be unstable so he was going to check on the Master Emerald to make sure things were okay.
After explaining the situation to Sonic, he wants to help out and offers to take Knuckles' egg back to Station Square whilst Knuckles checks on the Master Emerald and Maia. After a slight hesitation, Knuckles finally agrees and hands the egg to Sonic, asking him to promise to keep it safe.
