Growing up in the Chinese city of Xi’ an, Xiulan grew bored of her life and left home at the young of 13 to study abroad in martial arts. Her travels eventually brought her to a remote complex on a Japanese mountainside. It was here that she learned the art of Ninjutsu. By age 20, her training was complete and she would go on to partake in many missions for the complex over the next 4 years.
One fateful night, however, her life changed forever. Word got around the complex that an American airline jet was just struck by a bolt of lightning and was going down. A small investigation team, including Xiulan, set out to track the jet. Not long after it crashed into the ocean, the team come upon the wreckage and began to search for survivors. Xiulan saved a small husky pup, but found that the pup’s mother didn’t make it. Taking pity on the pup, she decided to take him in and raise him as her own.
