A former driving instructor, Wayne decided his best bet to get away from the hustle of city life was to start working at the Blue Coyote, breaking and training the horses used for trail rides. He was born a farm hand and moving to Calgary for his job took its toll, and he became an alcoholic.

Life is better now, and Wayne is (mostly) off the bottle, and spends his summers at the ranch. He also works security when the ranch is open to the public.

Wayne actually owns one of the horses, a gray mare named Clara, and uses her on his patrols around the property after dark as he's not the fastest ram around.
