Normally I don't like to advertise it, but this summer (mainly june and july) is kinda terrible for me. I got recruited to go the bahamas for scientific dives to survey the biodiversity of coral reefs and tropical fish populations post hurricane irma. While the lodging and airfare was paid for by the university everything else is not. So this includes travel insurance (which is forced by our university), DAN (diving insurance, which is also mandatory), misc gear, and sadly a new gopro since mine broke/crapped out on my last dive and unfortunately is also mandatory since we need some sort of camera/video footage mostly to identify tropical fishes and their behaviors.
