So I went and made one to have example images for you guys.
The sketchbooks are 50 sheet books full of 8x10.5, 50lb brown paper. It's a natural, hearty paper (so there may be some imperfections) that holds its own pretty well. As you can see in the example image (which, if that doesn't enlarge right, you can see it here: http://www.failedtonotice.com/SketchbookAd.jpg ) the media I tested on it is like, everything I have. I tested marker, white gel pen, charcoal pencils, regular pencil, and even blue sketching pencil. If you're planning on doing heavy markerwork, you might want to put some cardstock underneath to absorb any bleedthrough, but if it's just light work, a sheet of printer paper would be fine.
The book's cover is clear plastic, allowing you to make whatever image you want your 'cover' image, eliminating the need to have another artist customize it for you! The backer is a laminated black cardboard thing (the binder company I use has only this in stock), so the downfall is it will not take a heavy beating. If you bang it around in your bookbag, this book might be best left at home.
At 50 pages, the book is about a half of an inch thick. The page edges are somewhat uneven and rough due to being hand-cut, which adds to the whole 'handmade' feel to it.
Only $12 USD for this book.
Shipping will be $5 via USPS flat-rate envelope (It costs me $6 to ship in a regular envelope, believe it or not).
Interested? Send me a note or email me at density[at]failedtonotice.com :)
