Shadow custom repaint
Now this is something a bit different, and boy was it a long time coming. So years ago I decided I would try making myself a figure of my character Shadow by repainting a basic wolf one. Should have been easy enough given that he has a very simple design, however things did not go as smooth as expected. I mostly went into this blind, only instructions/advice I got was from my art professor at the time whom I asked about what paints to use.... and she suggested oil paints. That is why this project has been on hiatus since 2014 when I originally started it. Back then I got a suitable wolf toy, got the paints, and applied a few coatings (mainly the white and black parts), but each time it took weeks for the paint to dry (as usual for oil based ones) and eventually my motivation dwindled. However due something rather special happening earlier this week I decided to finally finish up this figure. I ditched the oil paints and continued with tempera paints since I only had detail work left and these would dry much quicker. Then I sealed him up with some hobby varnish and set the earring the next day (cause for some reason I do all my painting projects in the evening).
The result is not perfect, but I'm still happy to have finally finished him, and maybe one day I'll try again, not like I can't hoard more physical copies of him. X3
As for those interested, the base toy I used was this Schleich brand wolf https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.....uL._SX355_.jpg
