I assume this is the way many people must feel when someone open carries a massive handgun on their hip.
It doesn't really matter if the carrier has any intent to use said device, and it is harmless without intent. but it remains an active threat on display with the possibility of being turned on you at any moment, and that is generally accepted to be unsettling.

Now to be fair, disarming this lioness of her fangs would be a horrible thing. and if the Doe got to know here, perhaps they'd get get along quite well... I suspect while Ms. Lioness is likely not a strict vegetarian, she's been known to eat a bush or two.
