I used to animate back in highschool (but not stuff I would have been posting much of to like FA/DA)
at the time I was just a liitle too early for like youtube or even when newgrounds got easier to use so I basically gave up on animation because there weren't good options for posting it anywhere
got back into it fairly recently since now it's SUPER easy to post animation places, and I got a hold of an older copy of Flash (the one I would have been using back in highschool) so I didn't have to re-learn anything

I don't have much of an animation background. I just did little 3 or 5 frame animatics before college where I eventually exploded and went full on animation. Mainly roughs as I'm rusty with keeping a consistent clean line in animation
Ay, dude, if you ever need software, let me know, I have two very good animation programs I've used, and one of them I still use for my roughs. It has a learning curve but the pencil brushes and easy workflow are a blessing as well as the very big thumbnails and overall UI

for now I want to just get better at "the basics", and flash works out pretty well for that since it's so bare-bones
planning on getting one of those like "toon boom"/"TV paint" tier programs and doing a hybid of that and like after effects when I'm ready work work on longer more "finished" work

Pff, Toonboom and TVPaint were the exact programs I was talking about xD
Either way, I really look forward to more of these animation clips, I love them and as I mentioned before, kinda rare to see frame by frame animation around, so it's always awesome to see some

I've done the "puppeteer" stuff and stop-motion etc for school, 3D for my fist substantial paid work, but frame-by-frame is just the coolest option to me
also because I can hand-tween so fast that it actually takes me less time to do this than it would to set up a puppet

I haven't done 2D puppets yet, but I do plan on making one one day. I've done stop motion multiple times as well as 3D animation and motion graphics in college, but I agree frame by frame just feels.. Nicer.. Like, I draw already, with FbF I just do that but many times!
Also, YES!! It also has a special feeling to it, it feels like a bigger accomplishment to finish animating something you drew than spending the same amount of time troubleshooting a 3D problem they couldn't fix 10 years ago!!
