Looks like people should always be cautious around gifts even if it's not around the box itself.

An odd question, just one of those tangents my mind goes off on. Does the succubat transformation alter a person's mind to accept the transformation? What happens if a succubat infests someone who would hate having their body changed against their will? Does that aspect of their personality get suppressed? Or is the potential host left "stuck" in their new form until they (potentially) accept what they've become?

Just random curiosity.

The bats make symbionts feel happy and energized as an initial reaction. It's to help people get over that hump, but isn't a hard change.

A person completely against it would still have that process to work through. The gender seeking part of bats is another adaptation they have to help people with that.

And yes symbionts are stuck with the new form, within reason. Shapeshifters can mix things up, if the person's problem was that they want to be fat or something, they could put on pounds again
