Carmela has just been initiated as a Paladin serving for House Borreth. With the power of the holy god Aynzerl on her side, she feels confident she can face any foe. But some dangers still linger in the rolling hills of Aynland. Will she be strong enough to face them, or will she fall before such evils?
So, this story started out as a small, single scene story after Inkblot123 showed me a really cool centaur he was working on. However, after discussing this story with both Inkblot123 and Jesoran , the story evolved into the far longer story you see here. I can thank those two enough for the great ideas and feedback they gave me, as well as the drive to expand the mythos of not only Carmela, but the world around her. And who knows, maybe one day this paladin might run into a certain drider...

Geeze, finally got around to reading this one, sorry. ^^;
A few rough edges, but a real good story! I could definitely see her and Millia crossing paths at some point. :D
Also, neat to see the connection with your other stories through Sid. Hope this isn't the last from this world of yours we see. :3

Funny you should mention expansions to this world. Just recently there's been "Love's Protection," which goes into the Samelion Desert mentioned in Dangerous Potions Part 2. And I do have a mainline story return planned, so look forward to that!

Also, jut kind of one question about the setting- If centaurs are these symbols of divine righteousness, you'd think an alcolyte would be cavalry, right? In their image and whatnot, or as close as a human can get?

Yup, it's connected! (and don't sweat the names of places; I would also have trouble recognizing those stories were linked, honestly ^^; )
Mmm... not really. So the first Blade of Aynzerl, Paladin Bartholomew, was given a half-horse body as a boon to help an unmounted knight deliver justice to those that destroyed his hometown, marauders that happened to be on horseback. So, just saying that cavalry are linked with Aynzerl would be inaccurate, as clearly bad men can use horses no problem. I would say proven knights are given horses not as an attempt to become more like a Blade of Aynzerl, but as a practical matter and status symbol (and so, a horse is not something a young, unproven knight like Carmela would have at the beginning of the story).
