"The goal of this challenge is simple: Search the castle for the magic amulet. Every door has a magic lock. To get each key, simply complete a challenge. Find the amulet in the courtyard and you'll be rewarded handsomely. Good luck."
"This is stupid." Falco complained.
"We're not exactly in any position to turn down paying jobs." Fox told him.
"Fox is right." Fara added, "Besides, it might not be the worst job we've ever done.
"We're almost naked." Falco countered, "Fox and I have fought those princesses enough times to know they can be a little nuts."
"Still not the worst job." Fara argued, "It's a lot better than Slippy's family reunion. Or Wolf's game show. Or Wolf's other game show. Or Panther's dating game show."
Falco pouted as they read the first challenge.
"Don these magic princess outfits for the key."
They sighed in frustrated unison. In front of them were three dresses with heels, gloves, crowns, and wigs. The sole exception was the blue dress, which had a luma instead of gloves. On each was a small piece of paper with each of their names as well as a note: "These are for you to keep. Do not remove them unless instructed otherwise. Undress outside of the appropriate challenges and you'll be transported back to the start to restart the overall challenge."
"The faster we get this over with, the faster I pick our next job." Falco grumbled as they started dressing. Looking at the others, Falco noticed a smile on Fox's face.
"I am a pretty princess." Fox thought to himself, unaware of the attention he was attracting from the others.
"Are you enjoying this, Fox?" Falco asked, disturbed at Fox's sudden change in mood.
"Let's just get this over with before he gets attached to his dress." Fara told him. Their predicament brought back memories of Fox's Zero Suit days. As soon as they finished dressing, a large key floated down from the ceiling. Grabbing it, they unlocked the door and were confronted with a hall filled with locked doors.
"Well, this is just great." Falco complained, "It could take hours to unlock enough doors to find the stupid courtyard. Why don't we just forfeit?"
"Eight million gold coins." Fara told him, "That translates to sixty-four million credits. Wisely invested, that money would practically guarantee we'd never need to worry about money again. Imagine what we could buy. New equipment. Vacations. Freak'n mansions with maids and butlers."
"Pretty outfits." Fox thought to himself. Fara sighed, knowing what he was thinking.
"Fine." Falco sighed as they picked the door to a neighboring room, "But I warned you about the princesses. They're not right in the head."
Meanwhile, aboard the Great Fox, the trio are being secretly monitored.
"I told you this was a good idea." Peach said as she tried on Fox's uniform, "Hey, Fluffy wears the same size I do."
"Don't forget your end of the bargain." Krystal told Peach, Daisy, and Rosalina, "I get you your replacements and you get me and Panther a decent home."
"Of course." Peach told the vixen, "We have a castle available. It's pretty big and well defended. As soon as they complete their challenge, you and him will get to move in."
"We better." Krystal warned, "Otherwise Wolf is going to get three new waitresses for the seediest eatery in all of Venom."
Peach smiled. She still owed Zelda a favor and knew the princess was tired of life as a spoiled, bored princess and was looking for a replacement. Plus, Fox could use a neighbor.
"A toast to the new princesses." Daisy said as they all grabbed their drinks, "May their rule be fair, girlier than Peach's room, and permanent."
As they drank their drinks, Krystal and Panther began to feel funny.
"They spiked our drinks." Krystal said as she and Panther struggled to maintain consciousness.
"Nothing personal." Peach said, "We owe Zelda a big favor. On the plus size, you'll be closer to your furry princess friends."
As soon as the furry pair fell asleep, they were carried to a waiting transport. By the time they wake up, they'd be Hyrule's newest royalty.

Very cute and funny short story with Fox and Falco being tricked into being Super Mario princesses, with lovely Fara along, since she's a girl. Here's a continuity of sorts: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/29162472/ :)
