Sketchbook 134: Cassie

Cassie is a character that I’ve wanted to cross off my list of ones to draw for quite some time now. This is my first time drawing a Dragon Tales character in my current style and I think it turned out pretty well. There were a couple of tricky things that I tried doing such as the tail wrapping around her body and that one foot on top of the other. They were the hardest parts of this other than getting the muzzle to my liking.
All in all, she was pretty fun to draw. Might have to do another one of her in the future.

You got across her demure demeanor with your choice of body pose. Her legs are more elongated and she's not as pudgy so she's growing up. I recall all their parents being huge (even bigger than their teacher) so she's finally getting her spurt but is still trying to shrink away from standing out. I can't recall if Wheezie ever tried to get her to be more open considering Wheezie's character.

Oh right. I forgot about the thing about her parents. I honestly can't imagine a soft-spoken dragon like Cassie ever being that big :P
As for the Wheezie thing, I don't remember any episodes like that. Would have been interesting though.

Yeah, that muzzle was tough. Luckily, I've had some practice drawing a few characters that I ended up giving similar looking muzzles so it wasn't a total nightmare, thank goodness.
