\OuO/ Beautiful, wonderful strange fungi! But... what are ya, little thing? XD I have no clue, aside from it being some sort of stemmed polypore.
Details (for potential I.D.)
-Less than an inch tall, about an inch wide.
-Funnel-shaped cap, ringed with little darker specks and hairs.
-Whitish in color.
-Very large pores (as seen easily here)
-Growing from dead branches, probably a maple or redbud shrub.
-Found in Zone 8, mountainous, in February.

wow no idea... thats a super good photo though... try a Mycology forum or there is a very very good Professor of Biology specializing in Mycology in town here i could try to show him your photo if you want... he just might know. Iv not personally talked to him but some of the other local mushroom folk have said hes friendly.
