At some point, while I was experimenting with my new markers, I decided to draw a sentient skeleton trapped inside of a gelatinous cube. The idea here is that the cube (normally operating purely on instinct and not conscious thought) devoured the body of an adventurer, but said adventurer was cursed, or possibly possessed a cursed item which prevented them from perishing inside the cube. Now the two beings have formed a symbiotic relationship, where the skeleton runs a small merchant's shop in the caverns deep below the surface world-- a sort of midway point for adventurers to come trade their wares rather than having to make a trip back to the surface. Meanwhile, most trades require the donation of meat and other digestible substances for the gelatinous cube to feed on.

Mostly I just thought it funny to see a skeleton waving at you from inside a gelatinous cube.
