Reminds me of a detective anime, where there was a house, much like this, that even spun around with time, which... as soon as I saw it, said mto myself: "Ok, what other reason would one have to build this sort of house, if not to allow for a very elaborate murder scenario?"
What show was it? I remember watching one where they had to find a person who'd been kidnapped, and the victim had mentioned they saw a smokestack out their window. But it turned out it was a very tall narrow apartment building, and they had to find where the person was being held based on the angle they saw the building
Yeah, in a lot of the beach towns they're required to be built at least 6 ft off the ground now I believe. And the stilts work far better than blocks which are susceptible to erosion and the shifting sand along the shore. I might post a pic of another house I saw that was built like 15ft off the ground, lol
There's a few other circular homes around. Though oddly they're not built nearly as often as they used to be. They actually are much better design for wind resistance, though maybe not with so many windows, lol
