And this wraps up the last emotional page from this story arc. Hopefully Chelsea isn't too heartbroken over the loss of Pearl, since unbeknownst to her (but knownst to us) Pearl never really left.
This page also represents the first time, in over ten years of Persephoni being Chelsea's Guardian, that she's ever been able to give her a physical hug when she needed one. Pretty important moment, there.

I know this might sound a bit macabre, but... wouldn't this 'transition' be a bit easier for Chelsea if she actually found a 'dead' Pearl in the snow?
I mean, we're talking about a kid whose beloved pet simply run away. Even if she just got a new friend who will fill that void, Chelsea might still be wondering if Pearl is ever coming back. She can't know for sure if Pearl died in the cold snow or not. What if she starts posting <Have you seen my rabbit?> signs everywhere?
My point is that, regarding Pearl, Chelsea needs closure in order to properly move on. And to achieve that closure, doesn't she need to know for sure that her Pearl in never coming back?
