One of  FishyBoner 's "experimental bust or portrait" pieces she's doing right now. This handsome fellow- gender not given but he looks male to me- is apparently a horse-shaped horse. But the look in the eye and even what might be the slight trace of a smile makes me think he understands a lot more than he lets on.

In fact, I think he might be like a character of mine in a published story: Mucilage the Wonder Horse, nicknamed Moose. Moose is a pack horse who has an uncanny tendency to show up exactly where and when he is needed. Alkali Jim is absolutely certain Moose is a "feral," an animal-shaped person with at least human intelligence; a talking horse, basically, except Moose refuses to talk. That look in the eye... maybe this fellow is one of those too.

In any case, be good to him. I suspect he will reward friendship and hold grudges a long LONG time. :D
