Sooo, I just went to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince for the first time last night [I'm in Japan, so it juuuuust came out on the base theater yesterday], and although I was disappointed with some things, overall I really enjoyed it. I've always been a fan of HP, and I've always had a crush on Draco Malfoy [the actual character, NOT the actor Tom Felton]. In this book/movie he just seemed so sad and pathetic that you can't help but pity and want to give him a hug |3 So here I have my HP character, Liza Draconis, doing just that on the balcony of the Astronomy Tower.
As a bit of background history, Liza comes from the legendary Feliceius tribe of Werecats thought to be extinct and in some's opinion non existent. Unlike Werewolves, when Werecat people transform they don't become mindless killing machines and forget their true selves. Also, unlike Werewolves, they don't transform on nights of full moons. Instead, their transformation occurs at whatever phase the moon was in when they were born. The closer the day of their transformation gets, the more of their Werecat features appear. Werecats are usually born, but if a feral Werecat [meaning one that wasn't trained to remember themselves or a bitten human] attacks a human, they become one themselves. Just like Werecats that are born, bitten humans transform whenever the moon hits the phase it was in when they were bitten. There is no one set species of Werecats; some appear as oversized housecats while others appear as tigers, leopards, pumas, and many more. Werecats have their own brand of magic, but every once in a few decades a Werecat is born with the ability to learn and use human magic. Average lifespan of female Werecats is 110 years, and males average 95.
And yes, there is a story as to why Draco Malfoy would hug my character, who belongs to Gryffindor, but this isn't the place to tell that story....actually I haven't decided which house to put her in, Gryffindor or Slytherin, but I do have a story laid out for each one.
