Monthly Drawing 10: I'm Dreaming of a White (furred) Xmas
<<< PREV | FIRST | NEXT >>>
It was just after midnight on Christmas eve and Duncan McAllistair chuckled as he finished tying the giant red bow around his littlest sister’s favorite stuffed animal, “Blizzard”. He’d found the pair of bows in a new shop downtown that had sprung up since he’d left for college in the fall.
“Make your stuffed animals come to life!” the package read, “They’ll walk and talk just for you! It’s Magic!”.
Duncan didn’t really think it was magic, but maybe just a voice-activated thing. The directions were so badly printed, he couldn’t read them so, he just decided to tie one on Blizzard and one on himself. Maybe that was how it worked. Whatever it did, he hoped he could mess with his bratty little sister’s head on Christmas Morning. He carried the huge plushie down to the Christmas tree and put it prominently in front. Then he tied the other bow around his neck. He felt like a fool but, before he could do anything else, Blizzard disappeared with a soft sound in a cloud of clove-smelling sparkly smoke.
“What the- “Duncan began but was suddenly struck mute by the sparkles that surrounded him and the strange swelling of his hands…
Art note: Trying a new "magic" sfx out for the clothes. Got to keep things fresh. What do you think?

This is a super cute little sequence! When my little sister was just a kid, I would often "bring her plushies to life" by doing voices for them and acting out cute little scenarios with them while she watched. One of them was actually a little polar bear! So this little comic seems especially sweet to me
