Faux cnn or msnbc, after all, they're all part of the "Liberal" Media and fake news. XD
Lol does anyone ever really believe that? Honestly, I get my news of the net and research it. I'm going to have to tell the younger generation back in the day there was this thing called a t.v. and media was controlled by only a few corporations. The older generations just took what was told to them at face value and couldn't really respond to allegations made by the news. When we got the net and was able to actually check said information and got more involved they thought our well researched and multipronged looked at the news was insufficient compared to their singular news outlet that they never double checked simply because the guy giving it out had a suit and tie.

The internet's not impervious to bias, either.
You'll find unpalatable distortions of the truth on both sides. The dichotomous U.S. politics has really become a "my way of seeing and living is better than yours" type of game, when the country's essentially split 50-50 into two major bubbles and a bunch of minor ones, which can't all be represented at once.
And to vote for any alternative, you may as well fly your ballot off of Mt. Everest in the form of a paper airplane. :p

That is a common sentiment against the net oh yeah there's some information but there is a lot of Misinformation as well.
That all falls to bunk from my previous statement. Media controlled by a few corporations. I'll take some bias then full throttle of 100% bias that is not only shoved down your throat but you can't talk back toward.
On the net you can actually respond to news caster's allegations and double check it you couldn't do that beforehand. The net democracizes information. Sure there will be bais people trying to propel their points of view. There are plenty who believe Might Makes Right so they'll shove it even more by saturating everywhere with their message. But the Nets too big for them to keep echoing that and eventually not get backlash. They will always lose the war even if they win a battle or two cause only Accurate Information Has Practical Application. This what happened to creationist trying to disprove evolution on the net. They had tons of sites made many arguments but they couldn't hold out against the science and now they're laughed out and easily debunked they went the way of the dodo on the net even though they still have a lot of power outside of it having taken out evolution in several school counties in the south and teach a crazy doomsday ultra conservative creationism where they literally try to say black people are cursed by Ham disobeying Noah giving off by so many degrees of racism. You really don't want to know

The idea that only nerds can like stuff like D&D and video games and only jocks can enjoy sports always was retarded to me. I mean I myself don't like sports but that doesn't mean I won't fault someone who does. People are allowed to like what they like as long it doesn't hurt anyone.
Being nerdy isn't even that big of a deal anymore. At least, not in my High School years and later years of school and with my group of friends.
I feel like the internet pretty much made being nerdy acceptable. The same people who watch NBA also watch dbz and play dnd, and there's no shame about it - in my experience.
Heck, more and more rappers rap about video games and anime. There's not such a need to act overly (stereotypically) masculine by younger generations anymore.

I still kinda grew up with having some kind of stigma for being a gamer. It once came up in class and someone suddenly asked (in front of the whole class no less) what I would do if I got a girlfriend that wouldn't allow me to play games anymore.
Easy question, that girl wouldn't be my girlfriend if she wouldn't let me be myself :p
So yeah, I actively went through such stereotyping.

I might be an acception but, at my HighSchool the stigma came from what games you played. I mainly stuck with Nintedo while everyone else was play EA sports games and Call of Duty. I was constantly picked on and looked down on because played Pokemon on my DS. So there is still a stigma but it just isn't as straightforward as "Jock like sport, nerd like game"
