First off, I'm not depress or anything, I just thought it would be a good idea to have Decay have some emotional turmoil besides just him being crazy. Here's a little backstory. Decay lost his family before he was 11 and had been living at a orphanage by the time he was 12. since he is a necromancer and can see and hear ghosts, when he tells the people running the orphanage this, they think he's seeing and hearing things and have him committed to a mental hospital. A combination of abuse from the staff and unnecessary electroshock therapy and other therapy over the years caused something in Decay's brain to snap and as he states many times "I went in whole and came out broken" Decay was released after he escaped and someone believing him about the horrors he experience had the hospital investigated.
Anyways, because of what happened to Decay in the mental hospital, he's a little crazy and will say or do the craziest things and I originally had him as bisexual but recently changed it to omnisexual when I realized he would bone anything with a pulse- except people under 18 and he would probably hit on Metal Sonic and Omega if given a chance. Decay will do a string of one-night stands but if he really loves someone he'll love them unconditionally.
I had this scenario where Decay is being tender with his boyfriend when some homophobe insults them and Decay shoots back that the guy is only insulting them because he's so insecure with his masculinity. So later Decay's boyfriend breaks up with him and his reason is that he tried to handle Decay's crazy antics but can't especially what happened earlier with the two guys and that he's worried that Decay will eventually get him killed. Normally Decay is fine with breakups but when it comes to someone basically saying that they can't handle his broken mind just cuts him deep and usually sends him into a depression.
He's clutching a heart shaped pillow because it represents his heart and every time he suffers a heart break he would put a rip into the pillow and stitch it back up when he starts healing from the breakup.
He also confines with Valen that he doesn't like to be alone, he wants to have someone to love and wish he could find someone who loves him just the same and accepts him, craziness and all.
