Did you know they discovered a new species of centipede in Central Park recently? Every year, they do surveys of all of the plant and animal life in the Park, and the figure is quite remarkable. I read, some weeks ago, a reprint of a 1920s book on Frederick Law Olmstead, one of the principal designers of the Park, and how the Park was created and implemented in the 1850s and 1860s.

Have they counted the mice and rats lately? I've been to the park many times over my life but not long ago when Silnat and I lingered there as night fell, they became active and came out. I never saw so many before then!

Ya gotta go into the subways to see the real rats. They've got huge ones down on the tracks. Pizza Rat, it will be recalled, was manipulating a slice of pizza at a subway station.
