The green plants that you see is called the Naupaka. The flowers has the full 5 petals and is white. The interesting thing about it though is that it grows in a half circle shape. There's a Hawaiian legend that I was told when I was young that pertains to this plant. I can't remember the exact specifics but the general gist of it was that an Ali'i or high cast member fell in love with somebody from the lower cast. The lovers were torn apart and one was taken to the mountains and the other was taken to the sea. The Naupaka in the maintains would become whole when placed next to Naupaka by the sea, thus reuniting the two lovers. Pretty sure death was involved. Hawaiian mythology seems to have a lot to romance, drama, death, gods, and the gods removing their genitals and throwing them away then getting them back when they want to use it..
