Your character design is so goddamn simple.
And yet, when looking at any of the inkings that you've done with your characters in them, there is an enjoyment you get from looking at it.
Hell, even your stand alone character portraits in full color still look really damn good! I can't tell if it has something to do with your line work, or if at one point in time you tried to make the perfect character design after scrapping multiple ideas.
I just don't know!
There's no hint of an attempt at over designing your characters, and that pisses me off. Somehow. You, the one in a million artist out there, have found a perfect medium of character design and line usage, that I can't even begin to understand.
So regardless of the fact that your characters are so simple in design...
Regardless of the fact that you don't attempt to over design...
Regardless of the fact that your line work might be the backbone to your design...
Your art still looks fantastic.
And for that I both hate and envy you.
(Keep up the superb work!)

Thank you very much.
My linework is definitely something I pride myself on. I aim for a very clean and precise look, but I also have had a lot of practice on how not to overburden it. I think there can be a tendency for some people to assume that the more detailed an image or style is, the "better" it is. While a very detailed or realistic style can be very impressive when well-executed, I have not found that to work for me for the type of characters I like to design or images I prefer to create. I find that it's important to know when to stop working the piece and simply let it be what it is. I routinely do freehand practices to hone this approach; you can definitely see the difference between the most recent and the first one I posted.
I rarely get feedback with this much to it, and I appreciate the time you took to leave it for me, even if you are frustrated by my work! I have only managed to make things like this through constant practice and through evaluating the trajectory of my work & goals over many years. I hope to keep going and improving and make even better things in the future.
