Oh my, talk about love at first sight! I can't really blame her, either. That is one heck of an impressive weapon, and I'd imagine that even the mere sight of it would be enough to make most people think twice before attacking her. Finding ammo for it and keeping it clean and maintained is likely going to be a royal pain in a posty apocalyptic setting, but the trouble is well worth it, I'm sure!
That was entirely me wanting her to have a sniper rifle, just in case it ever came up as a story need, but also because it's a badass gun. ;) There may be better choices but I do like the look of it. Now ammo will be an issue to a degree since it's not as common as 9mm, for example, but not impossible. :)
sorry if this causes offence...but, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYqxyCUn5uc
That's a girl's best friend? Damn it, Marilyn lied to me!
I love the look of awe and then of pure, starstruck love on her face when she finally gets her hands on the gun. Her companion doesn't seem quite so impressed, though. Probably thinking of just how much a toy like this going to cost them. I don't think that's something you pay off by doing a few dishes or sweeping out the store, either!
I just hope it won't make them even more of a target. A piece of hardware like that seems to me a kind of double edged sword. Sure it'll come in handy in a fight, and might make people back away. But it might make others decide to come after you given how rare and valuable a powerful, and working, firearm would come to be in a crumbling world. I don't remember how long after the end this is supposed to be, but it's not going to take long for a lot of modern tech to start breaking down or just seize up due to lack of maintenance. It'll be interesting to see how this acquisition changes their lives for good and ill.

Well, after a nuclear war diamonds are a lot less important than a fine weapon. ;)
No doubt Kieran was probably hoping to get more supplies and food but the likelihood of finding another of those out there is pretty low, but he'll get over it. :)
This is about 5.5 years after the war. Maybe 6. Sierra already has a target on her back, though it's not for this. :)
