Love conquers all.
Two fae from different worlds, a Satyr of the Earth and a river Troll find completion in eachother. The magic created by their hearts makes their dream possible, signifying a long, happy and fruitful life together.
NOTE:
British and Northern European folklore is rife with river-hags, viscious, evil, ugly water-faeries that consume unwary travellers. Of course scaring young children with tales of such beasties ensures that the child will not venture too close to bodies of water. But think on this, many Celtic tribes believed that rivers each had a patron goddess. Now what is more "ugly" to the christian mind than a strong, poweful female divinity? Maybe these hags were originaly beautiful river goddesses.
