It's been 1 month since Rocky's surgery, and he's strong enough now that we feel it's safe to allow him to walk from the guest room where his crate is to the office so he can lay down behind me while I work. He's REALLY wanting to run but until we get his 6-week X-rays, we can't let him do any more than that. Running is still another month away. Hopefully, with all the walking we've been getting him doing, his bone will be quite well healed and we'll be able to allow him to roam around the ground floor (Even if he still has to avoid stairs. Right now we're quite happy that our house came with an old baby gate.)
This setup also has the added bonus of allowing Rocky even more constant exposure to the cats. We're starting to get pretty confident that by the time Rocky is fully healed, he'll be so used to the cats and they to him that we'll FINALLY have fully integrated them together (Even if we'll have to put Rocky in his room when we leave; even when Rocky is fully used to the cats, it'll be some time before we can trust him to not bully them when we're not around.
