The male mage is an apprentice, who was out gathering taking notes on various plants and herbs and their properties. He comes across a captured amazon, who was about to be sold as a sex slave, and he was able to help her escape.

I wont say he SAVED her, because he’s not very powerful as a magic user, but his spells against the mob was able to create enough of a distraction for her to break free and save herself.

She feels indebted to him, so she follows him around, much to his confusion, as she does not talk much, and even then, does not know the common tongue. Who knows, despite his small and frail size, she might even like him…
