Gaah, how do you even make titles?? Whatever. Oh yeah, sorry I went silent for 2 months. I'll try to actually post stuff a bit more often.
PS: The original title of this story was "Pet Fluff Story".
It was late afternoon, and Rina had just finished grocery shopping. She carried the 2 bags of food up to her house from her car and opened the door with her foot since her hands were full.
As she opened the door, she saw Connie, her pet cat, looking at her from the ground. “Hey Connie,” she said as she walked past the cat and into the kitchen.
“Hey Rina,” the cat answered back, following their owner. “What’s in those bags? Salmon?” Connie asked excitedly, noticing the familiar smell of fish coming from them.
Rina chuckled. “Yep. It was on sale, so I decided to get you a little treat,” she said as she put the bags down on the kitchen countertop.
“Aww, you’re the best, Rina,” Connie said as they nuzzled their owner’s leg.
“You still have to eat your cat food though.”
“Aw, c’mon, don’t ruin the meowment.”
“Really Connie? That was bad.”
“Rina, I’m a CAT! How do you expect me to not make cat puns?”
Rina rolled her eyes at her pet, smiling despite the bad joke.
“Oh, here’s another! Do you know what day it is, Rina?”
Rina sighed. “No, what day is it, Connie?”
“CATurday!”
Rina laughed. “Okay, that one was pretty good.”
Rina began preparing her dinner, with Connie bombarding her with cat puns at every opportunity. Eventually, her dinner of salmon and pasta was complete, with leftover salmon set aside for Connie. Connie reluctantly ate their cat food before being given a decent sized serving of salmon, which they happily wolfed down.
After the pair had both finished their meals, Rina picked up Connie and sat down on the couch, placing Connie on her lap. She turned on a movie and began watching.
Connie didn’t pay much attention to the movie; it was a drama, and they didn’t like dramas. Too many sad parts before the happy parts. Instead, they just got comfy on Rina’s lap and drifted into daydreams. At some point, they felt a blanket get gently placed over them. They were vaguely aware of something on the movie that sounded dangerous and scary. They didn’t care. They were safe.
After the movie was over, and the characters finally got their happy ending, Rina was about to get up and go to bed, but she remembered that she had a sleeping cat on her lap, cutely covered by a blanket.
She didn’t want to wake the little kitty, so she ever-so-gently wrapped the blanket around Connie and lifted them up before standing up and softly walking towards her bedroom. Unfortunately, her efforts were wasted as she heard a quiet moan, signaling that Connie had woken up.
Connie opened their eyes to find themself moving through the air. They wondered what was happening for a moment before realizing they were being carried. They turned their head to look at Rina, who was looking back down at them. She reached out a hand and gently petted Connie’s head.
“Hey there, sleepyhead. Sorry to wake you,” Rina said.
“It’s okay,” Connie tiredly replied.
“So, how’d you like the movie?” Rina teasingly asked, smiling at them.
“Oh, it was amazing. And that plot twist at the end, that was really the cat’s meow,” Connie replied with a smile.
Rina giggled at them as she reached the bedroom. She set Connie down on the bed and grabbed a book before climbing in herself.
This story originally had an ending but it sucked so I deleted it. You're welcome
