Loma's humanoids, with a focus on humans.
One of the things that annoy me about fantasy is that it doesn't matter what kind of geography or history a world has or that the plants and animals look outlandish otherwise, there's always piss-ordinary Earth humans present. And since everything is off on Loma, the humans won't be treated as an exception. The differences are more inclined nostrils, a slightly different ear structure, a prominent lower jaw flange, closely-spaced nipples, thicker ankles and most notably, a forehead plate that is also present on other ape species.
Humans can be separated into four races, with the first three being roughly equivalent to Europeans, Africans and Asians, while the Karan Sheiki live in the temperate zones of the southern hemisphere.
Other humanoid "species are gnomes, orcs and ogres.
Gnomes are a small-sized humanoid species that lives on a chain of islands. They have a delicate build, almost child-like features and large feet with very mobile big toes. Some of them are spread across Faluria; The islands had been raided in the past and its inhabitants sold as slaves to the mainland, where they were usually kept as curiosities in menageries of the wealthy. Others were exploited for their exceptional climbing abilities and since gnomes can't reproduce with humans, their women were often sold to brothels. Free mainland gnomes are usually living in larger human cities, usually at the bottom of societies, while especially in the forests of southern Faluria there are scattered gnome villages living on their own. During the raids, the island gnomes had figured out how to build large weaponry and the waters around them became dangerous to ships, with any vessel coming close being greeted by projectiles shot by catapults or ballistae.
Orcs are the native inhabitants of Faluria and Kushur, before they were pushed back into the northern ranges by the expanding human population. They have a short, squat build, small ears and large noses, traits which allowed them persist in the tundras and northern taigas, where they live as hunter-gatherers. Orcs and humans tend to avoid each other and rarely fight for territory. There are some trade connections between the two humanoid species; while they appear simple and brutish with their protruding jaws, the fang-like canine teeth and their simple lifestyle, orc cultures are renown for their love of art and most trade connections had started with visitors presenting them songs or elaborate weaveries.
Ogres aren't a species per se, but humans that had been bred to a large size, probably having been used as livestock and beasts of burdens by their creators. Aside from the size, they show other traits of domestication, like quick maturation, the ability to subsist on low-quality food and a greatly reduced intelligence, which is comparable to a normal human four-year-old. Unable to care for themselves, they are kept around by humans and halflings, being usually employed as carriers or bodyguards, however mostly for show; despite their impressive size, ogres are remarkably meek. They are found across Faluria and and Kushur, but some Kungaran kings and noblemen keep ogres as well.
Snowmen aren't considered as humanoids by many, as despite them being closer related to humanoids than to nonhuman apes, their intelligence is closer to the latter. They are very reclusive and more often seen by their tracks in snow and dark shapes against a white backdrop, which earned them their names, despite being present all over the known world in various species. Their social structures resemble those of gorillas, with one male taking care of a harem of the much smaller females, which are called snow-wifes and often seen as a separate species from snowmen. There are legends of human men having captured and married snow-wives. While no one had tried out if humans can reproduce with snowmen, the legends are likely false and the exceptionally hairy children supposedly sired by such unions being simply cases of hypertrichosis.
