He's not terribly social, he hates crowds, but he's really a softie underneath his chilly exterior who wants to please and make people happy.
He might have a little trouble expressing himself accurately, and it can come off as arrogance, but he's really just sure of what he says even though it might not be in the best format to convey his softer side.

He runs a coffee and tea supply store that sells all manner of coffees, teas, coffee/tea making tools, mugs, teacups, teapots, that doubles as a sort-of cafe though that's not its main focus. (And between you and me, drinks prepared at the store rather than having their ingredients purchased and prepared at home are much more expensive!)
