Noisy as Hell because I had to use ISO 1600 here. My 380EX is supposed (based on what's in its manual) to work in E-TTL mode, but I somehow can't make it... So had to tweak ISO and Av all way up.
I think I need to train more with speed shots... And to find a way to somehow force the drive mode used by "sports" setting in manual ones...

I'm not getting this, why does your ISO have to be so high and where's all your light? Wide open and not spectacularly fast. I've found 1/800 to be the difference for truly crisp still-motion water shots so that's right. These shots are really easy, really, you just need enough light. Best way, make your own where you'd like em, last year I was squirting water out of a huge vet syringe in-between sunset and camera, mondo woo-hoo fun!! Not sure if I posted those, they'd be waaay back a bit or even in scraps.
(sorry, 4:11 am, not blargsfkj enough for the other aqwsblrrrf.)

There's a lot of times when you should just go, Meh! and wait for a more opportune moment. Be critical! I just uploaded a bunch of pics from yesterday when I went out with a friend specifically to photograph this local landmark in the sunset, you'll see why.

Now ignore all the pics that are fun experiment silliness, and note that a LOT of those are just pieces of what will be BIG mosaic shots but.... all in all... THEY AIN'T WORTH SHIT! Why? Because even if they are decently composed, nice color, nice elements etc etc... it adds nothing to what others have done before. It's THE bloody image you're gonna get when you just walk up there and snap, no biggie. My "sensai" *grin* stresses that in every picture you should try to have something special and unusual. BUT, definitely DO get those cliche' kinda shots out of your system, they're learning experiences you've just got to chalk up! So, play, but remember to be brutal!
Here's some really FUN experimental stuff, take note of settings, light and all that for if/when you wanna work with water and light. Big syringe from the vets, water, squirt squirt, sunset sunset, snap snap! WHEEE! "Neato!" is as valid a reason to do anything as any other, and probably better!

Oi! Sorry about that, my bad, I should have remembered what it was like when I first picked up a camera. That was only two years ago by the way! *grin* I've got a steep learning curve, but there's another firm rule, know what you don't know and two years is squat, I've got a LOT to learn myself! I was going to talk to you about a few things about looking at pictures, how different people do, and sudden waves of weary roll over me. It's 6:45 am and this will require a brain that's much more alert than the one I'm using now! I WILL be back though of course, see you soon!
