Well... Got these cola bottles from the store, drove back home one the bumpiest road's possible, and accidentally dropped a bottle or two on the way inside. What could possibly go wro- why do I hear intense fizzing?

Yup! (Though, honestly, I didn't know that until someone explained it two-to-three days before Bowser Day, heh.)
As for Pokémon, I think that'd work, using their National Pokedex Number to match a date? Though, I have to wonder, what if the number can't be matched with a date? Lugia's Nat. Dex number is 249, and we have neither 24 months, nor 49 days per month.
