I was thinking how the XBox One kinda works or how those girl diaries worked by identifying the voice.

The Xbox one can filter a single persons' voice out?

I cannot remember if it did. I know that it couldn't react if the sound came out of a speaker.

Not more than two pages into this flashback and shits already hit the fan. Also, are we just not allowed to see the adult human's faces due to Battu having a lack of memories to recall from?

Still loving this comic even though I've read through it already. There's a small detail in this page that's very important to a theory for later in the comic. I wonder who else aside from me figured it out.

Either way, this has been more helluva fun comic to read!

I really want to compliment your way of making the parents anonymous along with the child's name! It's so simple but it works to a frustrating degree (but the nice kind! aha!).

That is what retinopathy means, yes.

Looking at the prior page, nice job there - wherein you have the child looking wide-eyed and sort of "forward". See, at first I thought it was to make the kid just look "cute", but now it has the other purpose of foreshadowing. :O You don't know about the Retinopathy until this page... but when he's first introduced, you can see him not looking straight up at his parents' faces.

awwwww so that's the prototype form of Battu this comic is really getting good

I feel a very thought-out approach to the pacing of this comic. It's foreshadowed that Battu has bad memory, which makes a good connection to the lack of information present in the story but usurped from the comic itself. However, it is also foreshadowed that Battu struggles with emotional instability. Once that connection is made, you can also theorize that the missing frames instead represent the emotional instability of the child and how - with the overall importance of Battu in the story supposed universe - unstable the universe surrounding Battu is.

This reminds me of Fallout 3 starting out. Funny how the parents throwing the B's & F-bombs every second, feels like some dark alternative universe, life story of Samuel Jackson.

I think the censors are them calling the child by their name.

I figured as much after my comment, I'm used to seeing the stars being used as censoring words as symbols. Then hiding the characters name or using a keyword of a important characters name from the story, will be like a "Blinks" in between the name or a black bar covering the name. But I understand why the artist went that style to be less messy on the text. ( and sorry for the bad joke)

I imagined the N-word instead... around the time that I also figured out that the comic was censoring/obscuring his real name, instead.

I love the story you've made for this. The flashback in particular nails the whole "I recall the situation but not the specifics" really well with the whole name-scrambling thing :)

yeah I wanted to make it feel as tho we the readers wont know anything if its blanked out because of the lack of information! it was an interesting choice to go with the face fading and the asterisks for the name.

I like the the sound of the drone is Batabatabata, its an odd noise, but fun to say and more fun to imagine a drone making.

So the extinct species was called a Rodentia, fascinating.
Something tells me that our earth was in the conflict of planetary war, conquest, or purge, wish I knew more and the boy's parents.

no Rodentia is a classification for body makeup and species type. like if i was cat like i would be in a felines classification.
