its just that he gets incredibly exhausted from keeping limbs as limb shaped for long periods and it caused quite a bit of mobility issues for him (his legs and arms kinda just lose their form and melt into a puddle after about half hour and he needs to rest so he can pull them in shape again). naturally artificial exoskeleton is easiest way to keep the legs and arms in functional shape
