simple thing i did as a warmup for other work.

something i’ve been meaning to do for a while– a total rework of some very, very old characters.
current placeholder names are Nix (left) and Lux (right) but those are extremely placeholder and not to be treated as finalized names, shrug emoji. they’re twins and are– idk, some race of demon? like, not ‘demons from hell’ but just some vague magical creature things. i really need to organize my OC ‘verses.

nix is basically a walking black hole for both magic and emotion. he can supress the effect, but it takes a conscious effort to do so. he’s kind of a doormat, but he uses his oft-maligned ability to bring peace to people in pain or panic. this happens a lot, since he’s around lux a lot. he has extremely mixed feelings about lux, but ultimately he doesn’t really have a choice since lux is the only person he has.

lux’s power is basically nix’s exact opposite– he can basically induce rapturous excitement at will as well as create surges of magical energy. he has much finer control over his ability than nix does over his, and it’s more of an active ability than nix’s passive drain. rapturous is an apt word because he leads a doomsday cult and believes it’s his god-given right to purge the wicked. he loves nix (nix is basically the only person he LIKES) but has a weird way of showing it.
for all he's obviously the evil twin™ i feel bad for him because he's basically on a 24/7 manic upswing which, honestly, sounds absolutely horrifying to me. SHRUGS.
