Matthew walked into the science building and checked out all the rooms till he spotted the world in shades. The two literally met at the door, almost knocked each other over.
"Are you alright?" Matthew asked "I Thought hard about what you said last week."
"Yeah, I- Oh about talking to someone?" Jake said "Wanna talk about it?"
"Don't talk about it here!" Brian shouted into Matthew's right ear"People listen to anything, even eavesdrop for fun!'
Matthew muttered to himself over it then looked to Jake again "Could we talk about this back at my room?"
Jake paused for a moment "Okay." he said then, but was still kinda silent "Something just changed in you, at least for a moment."
Matthew backed up worried "Is that bad?"
"I could come over to your dorm, later this evening." Jake said, a hand out and the eye in it facing him. "Could you maybe tell me what I'm getting into? Just a hint?"
"It'd be a good start." Lass said in his head "bring up your conditions."
"I'm..." Matthew paused "I have mental disorders."
At the news, Jake's face just lit up. "Really? That is actually fantastic."
Matthew backed away more "What?"
"I'm going for a degree in psychology." Jake said "being able to look into someone who actually has disorders could be something for extra credit, or even my thesis!"
"Could we not?" Matthew asked "I was just looking for some help..."
"Right, right, Sorry." Jake said "It's just that, being able to delve into someone's mind fascinates me. A career in that would let me do that and it'd help people."
"Could it just be for that then?" Matthew asked "For my sake?"
"Absolutely" Jake said I'd like someone to come along though, a new friend who is studying psychology too."
"Really? Who?"
Jake stepped to Matthew's side, and pointed to her. "Hey Kari, This is my Friend!"
It was the hybrid from the dorm, and when she looked his way her eyes widened.
"Oh my gosh," Lass said in his head, and then it came out Matthew's mouth. "It's you!" Matthew smiled.
"Matthew?" Kari asked "You're the guy who fought three monsters in the woods."
When she said it Lass beamed with pride. "They neveh stood a chance."
"Yeah, but it turns out he could help us with a thesis project." Jake said, but Kari just looked at Matthew again. "Tell you both what, I've got to go get some things from my room for this. How about you two head to Matthew's dorm?"
"um, I already know where he is." Kari said "We're neighbors."
Lass got Matthew to nod happily in agreement.
"Well, Just meet me there eventually." Jake said "Get to know each other."
Lass made Matthew spring down the steps and hug Kari's arm "I'd love ta." Lass smiled
