Indeed! I tell that to my friends who say that they can't be writers or who can't draw! It all starts somewhere. lol and this little blue fellow is actually pretty cute! He puts me in mind of something I would see off of Gumby and Pokey!

Yeah, people see talented artists doing great works and get discouraged. They just don't realize that all great artists started out less than glamorous. :P
Haha, he does a bit. From a technical standpoint though, he's a nightmare. XD

They seem to have this flawed idea that they just started off amazing, or that they're somehow different than they are; or blessed by Da Vinchi at birth; and that kind of thought not only lessens the artist, but the person trying to get into art. We all have the potential for great things and the ability to forge great talent through hard work and effort. No one person sets to something from birth with a mastery of it and discouraging yourself by seeing someone else as just naturally superior will weigh you down and deny your potential. You give form to characters and creations, creating substance from nothing more than a lump of clay, I can sort of doodle an alright looking sunrise and am still learning. Seeing people like you look back at your old work and acknowledge that we all start somewhere; encouraging others not to give up speaks volumes of the strength and measure of your character. The fact you're willing to show off your old works and encourage your friends and strangers alike only reaffirms my opinion of you; you are a fantastic person that I'm thankful to have met and grateful that I can call you a friend!

I like this guy! He's cute! It is great to look back over old projects and see how we improve and how styles have changed etc
