I felt like Jackal's old ref didn't do him justice. It was the first pic I ever made of a Qwujakuhl and it just didn't fit. This is another pic that had been partially drawn for some time and only recently finished. This is one of the few pictures I've done via the new program I recently swapped over to. I rather like the results. If you want to see the original profiles I'll link them below. I haven't really changed much of anything about his bio.
Name: Jackal Harbinger
Species: Qwujakuhl
Job Description: Qwujakuhl Representative ; Advisory Board Council Member
Jackal Harbinger is a Qwujakuhl whose work requires him to actually stay among the Qwuedeviv. The Qwuedeviv do not like Qwujakuhl so naturally his presence is a bit awkward for both species. However, considering their differences, Jackal fits in as best as could be expected under said circumstances. Jackal's job is essentially to keep an eye on what the Qwuedeviv are up to and make sure they are operating under the terms of the treaty between their species. The Qwuedeviv have full knowledge of this fact. It is one of the rules they have to adhere to in order to continue their practices. That doesn’t mean they always make it easy for the poor Qwujakuhl though.
Jackal is fairly curious about the Qwuedeviv, and a good portion of the time the kitties give the poor canine alien a terrible time even when he is trying to be friendly. Jackal has a strong disposition and has an almost heroic touch to his mannerisms. He can be silly if circumstances allow, and is well known for being affectionate, the Qwuedeviv do their best to keep their distance from him, fearing his tongues may lash out and give them an unwanted lick, or that he may attempt to scoop them up and give them a hug. Jackal has returned to his quarters many a time with a clawed face or nose. Despite the Qwuedeviv's generally unwelcoming reception, Jackal always seems to be in a good mood and rarely does his disposition falter. Besides, sometimes it offers a challenge to what would otherwise be a potentially boring life.
Like all Qwujakuhl, Jackal has a facemask/helmet that has an eerie spider-like quality to it, but since he much rather socialize, he rarely wears it. He’s really quite a socialable fellow. Like other Qwujakuhl, he needs companionship to survive in a healthy fashion so he is always tagging along with some unfortunate Qwuedeviv. He is considered charming and charismatic—at least by his own kind. Sometimes he tries to explain and teach the Qwuedeviv about his culture and social practices, but more often than not the Qwuedeviv aren’t interested in hearing it. Also, like most Qwujakuhl, Jackal is incredibly playful and would totally play with the Qwuedeviv if they let him. Play is a broad term; even if they let him run through their military exercises with them he’d be happy. Sometimes he convinces them to let him, but it’s rare.
The Qwuedeviv are apparently disturbed by the fact he has a ‘ginormous’ nose. Qwuedeviv feel all noses are ginormous though.
Another side note, Jackal really likes Black Frost, it's one of the few Qwuedeviv that don't treat him like an unwelcomed monster or annoying stranger.
It is acceptable to call Jackal, Harbinger as well.
