Here it is! I hope this helps you guys out!
I would love to see any pieces that use this method :3c I will link all the art and the artists here in the description!
Music used:
Sunrise of Flutes - Oblivion OST
Wii shop theme
BUBBLE TEA - dark cat
Condensed tutorial:
1. Sketch and line eye
2. Add a layer below the lineart layer and color the whites of the eye (if applicable).
3. Add another layer and fill the iris completely with the base color
4. Lock the layer or add a layer on top and put 2-3 darker shades of the base color, stopping below the pupil. The top should be darkest, and the bottom should be lightest. This will create a gradient effect.
5. Use black or a near black shade to fill in the very top of the eye and the pupil.
6. Add a layer on top of the lineart layer. Change the layer setting to luminosity. Make a circle that covers the bottom of the pupil with a paler shade of the base color. Use blur tool to smooth it out.
7. Add another layer on top and change layer setting to luminosity. Add white shines as well as shapes if applicable.
8. Add a layer beneath the shines layer, but above the first luminosity layer. Change layer setting to luminosity. Take the pale color used before or a similar color and make a semi circle going to the mid pupil. Add a few lines to the semi circle. Blur LIGHTLY
9. Refine quality until you're satisfied.
