Backstory (Subject to minor changes):

“Oh sweetie, it isn’t that bad,” the mother deer looked up from her travel booklet, “I’m sure you’ll make lots more friends in Equestria!”

“Hmph,” Crystal Wish wasn’t having any of it. She continued pouting at her reflection in the airship window.

“Honey, we should give her some time to adjust. She’s been through a lot the past couple weeks,” said a unicorn, leaning over to nuzzle his wife.

Crystal Wish was, in many ways, a special case. Born in Deersylvania to a deer mother and unicorn father, she became a sort of hybrid between the two. However, her ambiguous appearance left her parents confused as to how she should be raised: as a deer fawn, or as a pony foal? Eventually, they decided to let her grow a little in Deersylvania, until her appearance more clearly resembled one of the two. If she developed more deer-like qualities than pony then she would stay in Deersylvania, but if the opposite were true then the family would move to Equestria. After about 3 years, it turned out to be the latter.

Breaking the news to Crystal was no easy task – she would need to move away from her friends and go to a completely different country that she knew very little about. To help ease her into the transition, Crystal’s parents thought to start teaching her about Equestrian culture. However, problems arose when they realized how different Equestrian ideas of maturity were compared to those of Deersylvania. By Deersylvanian standards, Crystal was still considered a baby and expected to need diapers until age 4, but an Equestrian her age would be more of a toddler, and should have been potty trained by age 2. Crystal’s parents were hoping to reduce the amount of culture shock Crystal would have to face, but with her at the awkward age of 3 and still needing diapers, they had to act fast.

Fortunately, the potty training issue was solved in the few weeks before the family had scheduled their airship tickets, though Crystal’s mother kept around a few diapers just in case. The culture education had some success as well, but Crystal’s parents struggled to keep her optimistic about finding new friends. To remedy this, they decided to enroll Crystal in the local Ponyville school, where she’d be able to meet lots of foals her age. While there she met Button Mash, a young colt that had a borderline-obsession with video games, and the two bonded over a few rounds of Marevel vs Coltcom. Additionally, some of the ponies in class talked about anime and manga, which were unlike any cartoon or comic that Crystal had ever seen in Deersylvania. Excited with these new discoveries, Crystal rushed home to ask her parents for anime and gaming supplies. Glad that Crystal had made some friends but clueless as to what she was talking about, her parents decided to give her a small weekly allowance to fuel her hobby. Crystal’s enthusiasm got a little out of hand, however, as she quickly burned through her allowance in only a couple of days. Not about to let that stop her from watching the newest episode of Ponyto, Crystal decided to work odd jobs around town for more bits – mowing lawns, doing chores, etc.

Sometime later, while surfing the web for anime news, Crystal came across a website about being TF/DL – or a Teen Foal/Diaper Lover. Ever since her arrival in Ponyville, Crystal still had a fondness for being babied and wearing diapers, especially since her parents were so quick to push her past it before the move. Sometimes she would even sneak into her parents’ closet to feel the small pack of diapers left over from the move. She didn’t know what to think of these feelings until she found the TF/DL site, and the discovery of so many others like herself filled her with confidence. Out of excitement, she follows advice from other TF/DL users on the site and orders a pack of diapers. Delighted with her purchase, Crystal heads to sleep with a smile, but she forgets to close the browser window on her computer. When her parents come over to turn off the light they notice what she’s been browsing, but they decide to not bring up the topic in hopes that Crystal would come out to them one day. Once the package arrived, Crystal scrambled to hide it in her closet, while her parents pretended to not notice it.

After building up a respectable game collection, Crystal decides to invite Button Mash to her house for a gaming session. Just as they’re about to start they have trouble finding the controllers, so the two of them start to search around the room. This leads Button Mash to accidentally find Crystal’s stash of diapers, which sends her into a panic. Flustered, she tries to explain that they’re for hardcore long-term gaming sessions and an occasional bedwetting issue. Button Mash is mildly confused about the issue, but he does acknowledge that using diapers for gaming isn’t such a bad idea. Despite this comment, though, Crystal remains nervous about the topic for the rest of the night, even after Button goes home. She hadn’t considered that a friend might find out she’s a TF/DL, and the thought of how they might react was terrifying.

The next morning, however, Crystal Wish had a different outlook: if she wanted to be TF/DL, then she wouldn’t let anyone try to stop her. She wanted to embrace this part of her, not run away from it, so she took the plunge and ordered a pacifier online. Once it arrived, she started up her copy of Ponyto Ultimate Ninja, put on a fresh diaper, and popped the pacifier into her mouth. It was going to be a long weekend, and Crystal wanted to make the most of it.
