Spring is a time of awakening, of new life, but also of death. Every year around this time I find many animals whose lives were lost to the turbulence of the season; birds, snakes, raccoons, occasionally feral cats. With each find, I do my best to honor their small sacrifices. Iād like to imagine Nym would do the same, encouraging the growth that can come with each death.

Seeing dead animals makes me sad really. Being a truck driver at night, you see some pretty horrific deaths. I know this is a bit irrelevant to what you posted but reminds me of that. I know last year I hit a dog at 4am coming home from New York state, I felt horrible for at least two weeks after. Didn't even care that the front of my car was damaged because of it. Things can be replaced... Lives can't... I was left with so many questions as to why.
when my dad was a trucker, he'd try and save so many animals. Or send off those who didn't make it. Owls, turtles, moths. We raised cecropia and luna months because of dying mothers laying their eggs found on the grills or at the truck stops by the lights and he'd collect the eggs from them. Or the baby turtle we raised since he was the only one that made it crossing the road.
