Just a new photo of one of my 3 Usambara/OBT tarantulas. Quarter to show the size :) This is the biggest one. Josh and I moved all three of them last night into these smaller containers, the tanks I had them in were a weeee bit too big, and they were also getting dirty from all the dead cricket and roach bits. We also just wanted to check and make sure they weren't DEAD, as we've literally not seen them exit their burrows for MONTHS now. Hooray for pet holes!
Anyway, I was glad to see they're still doing well. This is the largest and most PISSY one of the three. It literally fell backwards and laid on its back in a RAGE when we tapped its burrow with a very long bread tie to get it to come out.
Sorry for the photo quality, took a picture through the lid of the container so it's a bit blurry :P

it might be worth your while to get a T you can handle! I'm sure you know more resources than I on where to get a docile rosehair or the like. it'd probably help with learning the movements of other tarantulas, and I honestly think arachnids are a joy to handle (at least, some Ts, emperor scorps and vinegaroons)
some guy at a local herp shop will pick up the Huntsman spider, braver man than I am though D:

You know.... I am actually terrified to death of spides, especially the small fast moving ones.
But your big fuzzy ones don't scare me nearly as bad. In fact, I'd like to build up the courage to touch one one day. XD;;; *end life story*
p.s. Beautiful colors! I don't think I've seen an orange tarantula before~ <3

What's the common name for that species? If I was able to name it, I'd likely call it the 'sunburst tarantula' because of that intense orange color. As for blurriness, it looks pretty clear to me. Like I said before, I wish I didn't have that problem with the urticating hairs on new-world tarantulas.
I tried to tell their genders earlier according to the chart I found, but they all look the same and they all look male to me... but I can't be sure, it's so difficult to tell. :C I took some very close-up photos of their bits though, any chance you'd be able to tell them apart or know anyone who might?

That second one came out horrible but it was the best I could get x3 I had to flip it over using the long breadtie through a tiny hole in the side of the container. It was oddly completely relaxed about it... o_o Even let me flip it right back over. :P Hopefully there's nothing wrong with it.

Thanks for any help! They all look virtually the same to me, lol. If I'd have to guess, they're male except ol' medium-y.

Working off of http://www.birdspiders.com/faq_sex.php. I'm going to say biggie and medium are both male. Small is hard to tell though...
This is a difficult spider to sex properly. :P

oh good, i am not the only one that never sees these guys out
a single outstretched leg in varying positions hanging out from the "sock" is the extent of interaction
mine did recently kick her one bum leg with the curly foot so she is a lucky 7 for the moment
i wouldn't have even known that, if i hadn't rescued the most recent molt, and found it wasn't totally empty
did you happen to know of anyone that actually sells them subdivided that way, red and yellow? i've never seen anyone take the time
most booths i see at herp shows have them marked just as starburst baboon, not even divided into lowland brown/ highland orange
variations, you have to pick them out yourself
for your being a T rookie, the shape on the abdomen there looks just right to me, resembling a robin's egg
if something were to happen to mine, i would have no hesitation snapping up one looking just like that myself
