The CMC getting their cutie-mark makes figuring out a character to cross them with both easier and harder. On the one hand Applebloom here has always shown some skill with building things. However her cutie-mark has almost nothing to do with it. Still I think she would make a good slot in for Lily Shen, especially if she got further mechanical training from someone else, like Pinkie Pie for instance. That's my headcannon for this crossover anyway.
