As the time comes for the annual medical exams in the overlord's lair, the overlord herself comes in for a checkup and to meet the new doctor that recently joined the staff. Looks like the meeting is going swimmingly as Flicker is promptly, er..."knighted"
"Is custom for new doctor to be knighted? Fliker is honored but is maybe bit soon... Also very busy, so if overlord sit still for exam she gets lollypop when done."

Do you have a story with this character in the works? If it's a relatively "clean" story I'd be interested in reading it. I haven't ever ran across anyone who has a firefly/lightning bug character in it. The only story I've read with an insectoid race was "Nor Chrystal Tears" by Alan Dean Foster (1982), which had a grasshopper-like race called the Thranx...cool story.
Hi. Sorry about the late reply.
I don't have any stories in the works for this character. She's more of a fan character for the webcomic, although she might pop up as a cameo there. (and maybe a bigger role some time if there's a bonus arc about the island she comes from.)
Though that said I have been considering havign an alternate setting for the character but nothing set in stone yet.

Put me down as a vote for an eventual story with this character.
I mention an insectoid race in my "Daggers of Darkness" sci-fi novel series, though I have yet to actually draw a representative of that race or include dialog with one (I really should draw one). They're called the Zadori, they are sort of ant-like, only about 5-1/2 feet tall or so, and walk on their hind legs (mostly). They tend to be arrogant, especially the soldiers, and are notorious for becoming downright rude when drunk. The soldier types have a thick, armor-like chitin that's very tough. They tend to creep out a lot of humans, though the Zadori are fearful of the Terran bat G.E.L.F.s (due to the ultrasonic sounds they can make using their echo location ability, and the 130dB "stun" scream, which is a holdover from their true bat ancestors).
