It was 25 years ago today that I was hired as a costume character at Universal Studios Florida.
My first shift was Woody Woodpecker.

What you see here is an original Woody Woodpecker head made by Shafton Costumes that was rescued from a dumpster 15- 20 years ago and recently refurbished by me. When Universal Studios throws away a costume they cut them up into pieces so people like me don't retrieve them from the trash and sell them or wear them around at Halloween or whatever. 15 - 20 years ago I bought a whole pile of cut up Woody heads for $50 from a collector who found them in a dumpster.
