This little guy (only 3" square) prefigures my current "saintly" theme by a few months, but really got me enjoying the look of a grisaille figure on a gold/silver/interference/shiny background. This one wasn't even painted using blendable Golden Open acrylics, but just basic (cheap) black/white/grey.
