Saintly Rhino

As part of my ongoing "saintly" painting spree (see also http://www.furaffinity.net/view/23203108/) I decided to make a patron saint of cigars for http://www.furaffinity.net/user/northfur/ - with a cigar band "halo" a nice touch, if I do say so myself.

The modeling on the rhino is pretty good—I think because the brush strokes complement the volume of the head, and because the boundaries of volumes are better defined here than they often are in your work. I also like the contrast between the warm greys and the stark white.

Have you mentioned this to Ursula Vernon, I think she would be thrilled at the ideas. This is very in keeping with a few of the themes that she has going in her artwork. Look up Ursulav on DA.
