An experiment I did time ago trying to make a character with a more realistic look, and I'm very pleased with the result!
This girl belongs to one of the two feline-like sentient species in my setting, the En'Ajshar, who look like caracals, while the other race, the Herimash, have a quite different look, with spotted fur, longer tails and shorter ears. The En'Ajshar also had a way more developed society compared to their wilder cousins, until their lands were colonized by various human kingdoms.
...just some lore for who finds it interesting. :P

Quite exotic but it communicates a lot when considering the periodisms in your story. The ear braids are especially fascinating. Reminds me of someone's afghan character where they had the ears tied behind the head in the style of a headband, keeping the character's long hair out of the way as well as the long ears with the same action. Heh.
I have several of them. Carlos Gomez was my first inspiration, he draws a comic called "Dago", which is a black and white comic set in the 16th century. The art is amazing, and it gave me the inspiration to develop my own medieval-inspired setting. My inking style is also based on his works.
As far as furry art is concerned, my main inspiration is Kenket (and the Blotch duo), which is the reason why I started using watercolors.
Other inspirations are Hugo Pratt and Juanjo Guarnido. And these are all the main ones ^^

Thank you! ^^ That was indeed one of my inspirations! I always loved Arabic art and architecture.
There are Dwarves, which are closely related to humans, and the Sa'Jiir, the lizard men, that can be pretty huge and intimidating. No other races apart from these. ^^
haha yep, that chain can be dangerous!
