Amen to that. High school literature class showed me just how overrated and boring so many classic books are. Only one that actually lived up to its reputation was "1984."

I actually made it a mission to read as many classics as I could when I was about 14. Some held up, most didnt. I think I got tired when I tried to read "Gargantua" and the whole thing was basically just french nonsense. It probably made for great satire in the 1800's, not so much in 2001

1984 was a book that once I got to a certain spot I could not put it down. Read it in one night and didn't realize time passed until I looked up and saw it was dark and I had been reading it for hours. It's one of the only books that keep me that spellbound.
The other was The Shining..so..yeah...I have a love of horror..real and imaginary.

And I defy you to tell me which of those two books is which.

Well since psychic powers and ghosts arent real, and fascism is, it's not much of a mystery

Won't argue with you on fascism, that for sure is as real as death.
But I have actually seen a ghost and have experienced a premonition so there might, to me anyway, be something to psychic powers and ghosts.

Premenitions are just a case of memory bias, it's easy to match up real events with any of the uncountable dreams and day dreams we have. You're not actually predicting anything, real life just happens to occasionally sync up with one of the random ideas drifting through our consciousness.

Maybe so, but this one defiantly saved my ass.

Except if you go to far back the spelling gets odd again...
